Life Group FAQ’s
What is a Life Group? –
A Small Group
A Life Group is a group of 5-15 people who meet regularly and are committed to the development of authentic community through loving and serving Christ, one another, and others. The term “Life Group” conveys the idea of living, nurturing and reproducing.
Why should I join a Life Group? – We need each other
We consider Life Groups to be one of the most important ways to experience connection and community at New Life. Through a Life Group, you are able to learn the names behind the friendly faces you meet on Sunday and share in your journey with others—encouraging one another as you live, learn and grow together and with God. God doesn’t want any of us to be left to walk alone—we need each other.
When and where do these Groups meet? – There’s Variety
Our Life Groups meet on various days and nights of the week in different locations throughout the community. Each group has a facilitator who may also provide the host home for the gathering.
What can I expect at a Life Group meeting? – Authentic Community
While every Life Group tends to develop a unique identity based on its members, each gathering will often have a time of fellowship, praise and worship, prayer, and application of God’s Word to everyday life.
Which Group Should I Join? – The One that Fits You
You may choose to join a group for several different reasons: either a friend invited you, the location works for you, or even because of special interest or station in life (young-marrieds, empty-nesters). It may take two or three groups before you find the perfect fit. But don’t worry, you’ll find it!
What about my children? – They’re Welcome
As a church that stresses the need for healthy families, our Life Groups are designed to meet the needs of your family. We find that some parents enjoy attending Life Groups without their children while others want their children to be involved as well. Therefore, there are a variety of groups that minister to a variety of needs.
How do I join a Life Group?
Contact a Life Group leader and discuss the detail of their group. If it sounds like the right fit for you and/or your family, then give it a try. Once you find a group that’s right for you, make a commitment to become a vital part!
